Good Friday is the day on which Christians commemorate the suffering, death and burial of Christ Jesus. It is observed on the day of the week when Christ was crucified, and believers have used this day throughout history to gather together for prayer and to recount the events of the Passion.

Note that due to Shrine of the Sacred Heart's processional through Mount Pleasant beginning at 8:00 PM, those driving are encouraged to park in the Canaan Baptist lot on Newton Street between 14th and 16th streets or in Columbia Heights.
