The gospel shapes every aspect of our lives, and 2 Corinthians 8:9 shows how the gospel shapes the way Christians understand their possessions. Christians are called to give sacrificially and joyfully, as was lived out in the early church, because God has given everything for us. (Acts 4:34-35). Therefore, we encourage those who follow Jesus to give as an act of faithful worship to support the needs of our church community.
Give By Electronic Transfer
Giving by electronic funds transfer (EFT) or automated clearing house (ACH) is the preferred automatic method. It is free and minimizes Advent’s administrative burden. Not every bank makes this available fee-free. We know it is possible with USAA, ING, The Staff Federal Credit Union at the World Bank, and PNC. It is not possible with Bank of America, Citi Bank and Charles Schwab. If you would like to set up giving by electronic transfer please email the Advent office at email@example.com.
Give By Mail
To give by check or set up auto draft checks, make your check payable to Church of the Advent and mail them to:
Church of the Advent
3251 Mount Pleasant Street, NW
Washington, DC 20010
You will be able to download an end-of-year giving statement at the end of January on Advent Commons. Note that all donations sent by mail or by auto draft check must be received by the second week of December to count toward that tax year. Donations received through other methods (electronic transfer, PushPay, Sunday offerings) must be received by the last business day of the year to be counted toward that tax year.
